Javalina Jundred

Six years ago, I set out to finish my first 100 miler with the illustrious sub 24 hour goal in mind. What followed was a full blown mental and physical collapse that ended in a 20 mile death march to the finish.

This time around was different. With a few more years (and a few more lessons), I finally brought home that sub 24 while being in control the entire race.

As for the race itself: 10/10. The aid stations were a party, the volunteers were some of the most passionate I’ve ever met, and the course, though completely mental with five loops, was stellar. I’d happily be part of it again but with a proper costume next time.

Grateful for the best crew chief anyone could ask for David Green and of course Matt Gaide, who somehow managed to puke his way through 100 miles and still come in under 24. Unreal.

I’m officially retired from running… for now.
